Summary

The discussion around the market "Will Ukraine hold Kursk through October 31?" highlights mixed opinions and high stakes, as participants analyze both the tactical situation on the ground and the specifics of market resolutions. The arguments focus on Ukraine's military capabilities, and the strategic importance of Kursk, with some commenters predicting a strong likelihood that Ukrainian forces will maintain control, despite potential Russian counterattacks. While some users express confidence in a "Yes" outcome, skepticism persists due to recent reports of Russian advancements in the region. Market rules clarifying the resolution criteria are also a subject of debate, with particular attention paid to whether any part of the Kursk Oblast remains under Ukrainian control.

  • The consensus is divided, with some participants asserting a high probability of Ukraine holding Kursk, while others cite recent developments to argue for a possible retreat or loss of control.
  • Clarification on the market's resolution conditions emphasizes that the outcome depends on control over any part of the Kursk Oblast, influencing strategic betting decisions.

Easiest cash i've seen in a while - russia occupies a significant part of ukraine, and ukraine knows that if trump is elected, there will probably be a division of territories that will consist of something along the lines of "whatever you occupy is yours". Therefore, ukraine wants to occupy as much as they want from russian soil for two reasons: To prevent said division of territories, and to use kursk and its surroundings as leverage in potential future negotiations. If not for these reasons, why would ukraine have advanced into kursk instead of using that firepower to regain lost territory? Kursk to remain ukrainian for a while.

Vatniks were warned, but the 75c bridge was blown anyway. Frantically building fortifications at 85c won't save you

The special Polymarket operation has been such a complete success the vatniks are building a last stand redoubt inside 90c territory. How long until they're forced to call in artillery strikes on their own positions?

No holders should really blow up the 75c bridge and retreat across the 90c river before your shares get taken captive
