Summary
The discussion about the Uruguay Presidential Election touches on the strategies and alliances forming ahead of the election runoff between Yamandu Orsi and Alvaro Delgado. Orsi secured the most votes in the first round, while Delgado is gaining support by consolidating votes from the incumbent coalition. There is debate over the reliability of polls, with some predicting Orsi's victory and others noting how close the race is. Additionally, some discussion participants question the weighting of predictions and the chance assigned to each candidate.
- Yamandu Orsi leads with 43.9% in the first round while Alvaro Delgado works to consolidate support from coalition parties.
- Debate centers around polling results and predictions, with mixed opinions on whether Orsi's lead is definitive due to undecided voters and tight race margins indicated by some polls.

While Orsi was the single candidate with the most votes(43.9%) in the first round, the five candidates who represented parties within the incumbent Republican Coalition collectively gathered a greater share of the votes, 47.5 percent. Delgado will aim to consolidate that support in the second round and has already secured the backing of all the coalitional party leaders. Orsi and Delgado will make their closing pitches to the electorate in a televised debate on November 17.

There is a runoff between Orsi and Delgado on November 24th. According to every single poll there is technical tie between the two candidates. Big Debate night this sunday. Not Sure why there is only a 20% chance for Delgado here, when every single poll shows its a neck to neck race. Orsi is ahead in the polls. In these situations, the one ahead usually wins, so that perfectly explains the 80-20 split in the betting. Orsi has 80% chance of winning. That is where the odds should be.
