Done 100 simulations with AI, 2 times without debate, 10 times they shake hands, 87 times they don't shake hands and 1 they shake hands and instantly melt into one person. Do what you want with this info

1.) This is a new candidate with much less predicated vitriol. 2.) Trump camp wants the handshake for the height and size contrast. 3.) Trump went out of his way to say he respected and liked Obama--there's a noticable change in messaging to try and make campaigning less personal, or to be the "adult in the room?" 4.) After the assassination attempt, there was a calling from the media to and from both political aisles to turn down the rhetoric, they want a handshake for the 'civility' card. Call my theories what you will, but 20% is a bargain.

Its not about emotions of either side, its about what their strategy team thinks is the best approach/optics. As mentioned before, things like Trump size profile being larger than Kamala and other seemingly random things weigh in favor of Trump wanting to shake hands, and Kamala wanting to appear civil and like she will keep on policy, less personal attacks etc. Show of civility during a divided time will be respected by moderates who are the most important group for debates. Could go either way but i think yes is slightly undervalued here. 40/60 or something imo

trump was afraid of catching brainworms from biden. so he didnt shake with him. but he is secretly attracted to kamala so will most definetely shake hands

I already bet "no" and won't change it, but thinking it over, they've never met, so it would be weird for them not to shake hands while meeting for the first time.
