Temporarily I expect the Chinese odds to rise. But f you want almost safe money just get USA yes and wait till the last day or China no lol. But no financal advice. I'm still playing around, but will get some liquidity into Polymarket in the coming days. It's fun. Just hope there will be good stuff to trade after the Olympics. The Chinese pair is leading now after the exchange (it was a like 9 seconds behind). new discpline so I didn't trust the fantastically low odds and have them on gold. alas not tradable here

They'll likely catch up, yes. So a swing trading opportunity since the market mostly overracts to the current count without properly analyzing as a few of us do. Heck, bookies are terrible at setting odds. I always beat them. They need all that vig and their scammy withholding of funds for reasons. It's to a large part simpletons with no real interest in sports working for them and mainly automated models based on past data. In my book the odds for the USA to finish on top are above 98%. I'd say 99.9% if injuries and disqualificatons weren't part of the equation. Or a sudden interruption of the Olympc Games due to a Black Swan event. But in the latter case there'd surely be resoluton disputes.

On another note: There is a very high amount of suspicious air traffic around the Middle East and the Mediterranean. Tons of medical supplies are being brought into Lebanon. A huge escalation is absolutely certain. I'd follow the news closely to go short on any non-stablecoin.

The USA will win this, but the market will overreact to China catching up first. Mixed walking and diving for China and this ineffcient market will go nuts.

Y'all - Can we be done here? the US has 15 medal events where they're favored by more than 50% to take home gold, and another 9 between 30-50%. China has 9 & 2. China is essentially guaranteed 7 of those 9 but it'd still take an incredible collapse for the US not to end the games at +6.

People don't think it won't be ''close''. The market isn't about closeness, though. T's about who will end up on top regardless of the margin. And even a draw in gold medals would be a win for the USA.

Okay I got my fills of what I am willing to risk here. So I will give my breakdown. My best estimates put China at right around 35 gold medals. This is a lot easier to predict compared to US because China focuses on only certain sports and tends to perform to their ability. US is spread out a bit more and has random wins and random let downs. My best guess for them currently is also 35 (11 more golds). So with all that said this is actually a lot closer than people think but US is still definitely favored.

Lesson learnt...no need to try to swing low volume markets on Polymarket yet. Wanted to sell and buy lower for x4 or more. Would have worked if the transactions had worked. Same for Morocco Spain yesterday. Knew Morocco would go up and then lose. Bought to sell when they went up, the sales didn'T work and I just wrote it off instead of having a headache lol. Gonna put serious money nto Polymarket because it's a gold mine, but probably will stay away from tiny markets. :D

I was at least hoping there'd be some suspense like there was in the Tokyo olympics, but China really blew it. I think 2021 will be the last time they were actually competitive with the US. 2028 is already locked down for the US

You're not the smartest cookie out there. There are many competitions in which the USA could win all three medals if more participants from the same nation were allowed. The same applies to China to a lesser extent. And there's no reason whatsoever for Europe to count as one.
