@090x for example, to buy back 1000 shares in the other market at 60 cents you could buy 1000 NO of 0 at 67c for $670. Then you can convert those NO shares into 1000 YES shares in every other bracket. Then you could sell the 1000 YES shares you got for the 0state option at 7c to get back $70. Thus, your net money spent would be $600 and you would now have 1000 YES shares in every option for a non-sweep (at an effective price of 60c per share).

I was v curious where you are coming from and appreciate the reply. wrt abortion on the ballot, look, you may be right; although imho if it's to have an impact anywhere it will be most felt in FL because unlike other states that need 50% to pass, FL requires 60%. Consequently on Polymarket "Which states will pass amendments protecting abortion?" FL is only 64% vs 95% in most states. Ie it's really not a done-deal, it's a tight race and that's going to to mean more turnout amongst women who might not otherwise have bothered (as opposed to most states where it's a done deal), and obv are women lean KH this election. Let's say conservatively turnout is 5% more due to women, and they lean 5% KH that's 0.25%; hmm not much, might finally have to look at crosstabs :P Oh wait, here's a pitch: did you see a poll where leans are broken down by age, and in that poll Gen-Z lean 40% KH, and they also have the lowest turnout typically, and probably have the most abortions? Hmm, maybe 1%? hoho. Wrt correlated markets, I'm in ec already, but maybe you have a bigger brain meaning :) anyway thanks again for reply, gl.

I'm not sure how to ping both, so sorry will copy pasta; Trump is only +4 in Florida, and there's abortion and weed on the ballot so KH outperforms polling. How can you believe Harris will win overall, but not have a good chance at Florida? Many swing states are polling within a point of 2020 results, including Florida (my point being Florida's polling +4 Trump is probably what you'd expect rather than freaky outlier stuff). GOP is the obvious winner in Florida, but if you already have a pro-KH view nationally how are you not liking Florida odds at 18%? You already think she'll win 1-2% nationally if you have a pro-KH view (otherwise it's a toss-up with today's polling) and you both have positions in it! And you must admit she's likely to outperform polling with abortion and weed which will help with female and dem turnout. But you think 82% likely that KH won't win 2 extra points to narrowly win FL? You're not one of the ppl conflating presidential and gubernatorial elections are you? I just find it nuts. At 18% you could quintuple your money with a KH buy; or risk shedloads for a 25% ROIC with a GOP buy. Fair play and good luck, I just think there are easier ways to win 25% ROIC!

correct. the voting period is seperated into two 24 hour periods. During the first period people vote, and during the second period people reveal their votes. At the moment there are 16 hours left in the first period. Once the second period starts you will be able to see how people voted as their vote gets revealed.

i also was confused for a second. what happened was this got proposed twice. when that happens the vote on the first proposal is ignored in favor of the vote on the second proposal. so while the first vote is complete and was overwhelmingly for a YES resolution (see here https://vote.uma.xyz/). But now we need to wait for the second vote to be finished before the market closes and the payout occurs.

it will stay open until a user proposes a resolution (to do so you need to put up a $750 bond that you will lose if another user disputes your proposal and then UMA deems your proposal untrue. if nobody disputes your proposal, you will get your bond back along with a $5 reward and the market will close after two hours).

as far as i can tell there is just one difference between the two, which is that the other market includes exactly 50 years, while the >50 bracket here doesn't. But unless if you thinkt here's a 4 percent chance that his sentence is exactly 50 years, then that isn't a sufficient explanation. it doesn't say it in the rules but people on here are really shitty about that stuff. people love proposing resolutions before all the info is known and you have to put up a $750 bond and pray UMA sees it your way if you want to stop them. some of the fault also lies with polymarket on often not providing any guidance in the rules for when a proposal can be made. in this market it's going to be pretty clear that nothing close to 1 trillion was raised, so not the biggest deal.

unfortunately for the two of us, the rules say that a shutdown just has to occur at any time between the start and end dates so even if it is no longer a shutdown at the end date this would still resolve Yes.

The rules say 12 p.m, which is mid day, less than 12 hours from writing this. The House has passed the stopgap bill before the midnight deadline, so crisis half averted. Plus, the White House has just said: "Because obligations of federal funds are incurred and tracked on a daily basis, and the President will sign the bill tomorrow, agencies will not shut down and may continue their normal operations tomorrow." So hopefully, Biden signs the bill on March 9th

Warning to potential proposers: I might be reading the rules wrong, but I think the only count that matters if the one that occurs at close. So even if he tweets “bitcoin” I don’t think would be safe to propose 0 reolve to NO because the tweet could get deleted.

So far the times of india seems to be the only big place reporting this happened. this probably will end up being yes, but the bar of "officially acknowledged by the Pakistani federal government or a consensus of credible reporting" hasn't been met yet imo.
