"Ty" is easily used to address strangers on the internet if you don't want to be formal. "Pruvet" is not used at all; there's no need to greet strangers in online chats. For "non-friends" in real life, "Privet" or "Zdorovo" is used if you're significantly older or want to quickly switch to a less formal way of speaking.
