The retaliation against Gaza is over 2/3 of the housing has been turned into rubble. Israel achieved a very high K/D ratio with at least 40 000 palestinians identified and confirmed killed and almost 200 000 unidentified remains of corpses vs 2000 israelis dead which means one jew for one hundred arabs. Now Hamas is no longer a threat. Israel will replenish his arsenals and prepare units for a land invasion of southern Lebanon next year. BIbi can save the face saying that despite the intel failure he managed to eliminate 90% of Hamas leadership (including one spec ops masterpiece in Tehran) and rescue the remaining hostages and Sinwar will say that Hamas has survived 300 days of consecutive carpet bombing thus making both sides claiming a victory.

Students of the Israeli occupation know that this is free money on YES. 1) Israel has an extremely far right govt in place and Netanyahu is most interested in staying in power, 2) while there are def protests within to call for ceasefire, the majority of Israeli population is far right and more interested in annexing more land, so a ceasefire would not serve them well, 3) US is in an election year and there is a lame duck pres in place. Israel won’t make any moves unless there is US-led pressure, which there won’t be until we know who our next pres is. And finally 4) there is imminent war with Iran on the horizon

They are larping in order to have the upper hand during the negociation deal and show the world they were on the edge of delivering a blow but that they restrained and acted rationnaly same for Hamas when they said that they won't attend the meeting it won't change anything as Qatar will plea for them and they will find an agreement as it is in nobody's interests to start up a regional war. They are showing muscles in order to prevail during the negociation phase.
