Yep I was on the fence after the Israel tension settled and the Russia-Ukraine war isn’t as scary as it was when it started (no rising threats of nuclear war). But once I saw they take into consideration ai and misinformation, this was a solid Yes for me. Especially with this new Chinese ai taking everyone by storm. 2024 was also hottest on record, Syrian government collapsed, major floods in major European countries last year, trumps plans to go back to drilling for oil and staying away from solar/wind energy. This is why im more convinced of yes than no. Russia knows what it wants, America knows what Russia wants, Russia knows what America wants. Up until now, all of those ‘wants’ haven’t been possible because Biden wasnt willing to ‘play ball’ with Putin. Trump on the other hands is driven by money and will make deals / side with anyone that can profit his country. He’s a businessman more than a president. He will broker deals with putin that would benefit the US significantly (and Russia) mainly through oil prices, and Zelensky gets thrown the bone of ‘peace’ which he has claimed to want this whole time. At the moment this is all resting on zelensky’s willingness to remove his 2022 decree and end this war, but he’s changing his tune now that a deal is actually possible. I don’t blame him though as he’s gonna get presidentially fucked in whatever deal happens. This ceasefire IS coming I’m just not confident in the timeframe of this market.

Historically it seems they’ve only met to discuss Syria, and that’s pretty much dealt with already. Saudi would seem more likely especially considering the role oil plays in negotiating a ceasefire with Russia. Zelensky has met with Saudi to discuss the conflict too.
