The Nate Silver tweet has given me clarity. Kamala + Co probably decided on Shapiro last week when they booked the opening rally in Philly, but have successfully kept the suspense going and the progressives satisfied by seeming to take Walz seriously. But there is no way they are going to introduce Walz as VP in Philadelphia! Oh and the press does report that she has been consulting with Obama a lot, and the NYT wrote a great piece yesterday on the long-time ties between Obama and Shapiro. Shapiro is clearly the best choice because all the attack lines are on how liberal she is, so we need a moderate to balance the ticket, not another leftie.
