I think this has enough brand recognition that 50M is a solid floor. No competition, so default choice for people who want to watch a movie will be to watch Joker 2.

Saturday numbers are going to make or break this. Typically its a huge bump over Friday given the afternoon screenings. Even if there's a dip considering the bad reviews if it hits 16-17 then its on like Donkey Kong.

As per the rules: "This is a market on how much 'Joker: Folie à Deux' (2024) will gross domestically on its opening weekend. The “Domestic Weekend” tab on https://www.boxofficemojo.com/title/tt11315808/ will be used to resolve this market once the values for the 3-day opening weekend (October 4 - 6) are final (i.e. not studio estimates)."

The real question is: Will this bet get resolved before or after the final numbers are in?

I know this movie has a lot of hate but for it to be under $66m opening weekend would mean it was the worst #1 of the year. Literally nothing else opens this weekend. No competition. Even Furiosa (which had next to no hype) did nearly double that opening weekend
