In five days, on February 24th, the war in Ukraine will hit the three-year mark. Ukraine has zero chance of winning, and with US and Europe pushing for an end, just holding onto what’s left will require effort. More than a million Ukrainians and Russians have been killed or wounded, and millions of Ukrainians have been displaced. All the pieces are in place for at least a temporary ceasefire to stop the bloodshed while a lasting peace deal gets worked out. While not likely, it's not impossible that a temporary ceasefire be announced on the war's 3-year anniversary.
