Cool doomer fanfic brooooo. But Menendez resigned after a federal case, Biden dropped out from party pressure, and why would Bowman resign from congress for that lol? "Totally cool" are you forgetting he got a formal censure by the House and lost fundraising partners from the media firestorm? he didnt even delay the vote. FAKE NEWS! Trying to tie all these discrete situations together with a simplistic "guberment no accountability" bow does a disservice to the complexity and dynamism of the world and US politics.

In the USA in 2024 nobody from either party ever quits. They just keep going until they lose or are going to prison. Doesn’t matter at all if you are a slavery-loving porn booth regular, it’s okay if you are caught red handed with Egyptian and Qatari gold bars in your freezer, totally cool if you pull fire alarms in the capital to delay votes, and it’s really no problem to run as a convicted felon. Standard 2024 strategy is to vigorously deny all wrongdoing, claim the charges against you are just a rigged witch hunt, and hunker down until the public gets distracted by the next shiny object.
