didn't "miss" 2012, I just looked at 2004 and 2008 because they're the equivalents of Obama's 2020 and 2024 respectively. But you're right, 2012 (and 2016, when his wife was the nominee) his speeches were over 30 min. So... I guess makes it 50/50 which direction Obama will go? Though if you look at the longer-term record of post presidency DNC speeches, they tend to get shorter as time goes on not longer.

Obama is a headline speaker. Every single DNC speech he has given in front of a crowd since 2008 has lasted much longer than 30 minutes.
